School Community

Parent Engagement

At St Mary’s Catholic School, parents and families can participate in many ways. We invite you to join our community.

At St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, we warmly welcome parents and carers to our school each day for drop-off and pick-up. We encourage you to stay and join us for our morning assembly, where students lead our Acknowledgement of Country every Monday and recite our school prayer daily.

We invite all parents to get involved with our Parents in Partnership (PIP) team. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with the school community and contribute to our students’ educational experience.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child, please feel free to reach out to their classroom teacher. Open communication is essential to supporting your child’s learning journey.

Parents are also invited to attend Masses and liturgies held at the school and the parish church. For details on upcoming events, please check our school newsletter, website, Compass, and term calendar.

Parents receive reports on their children’s progress each semester, and mid-year interviews are scheduled to discuss achievements and future learning goals.

Our annual carnivals—swimming, athletics, and cross country—are exciting events held off-campus. We greatly appreciate parental participation for supervision and assistance, and it’s always uplifting to see parents cheering on their children.

In May, we celebrate our school’s feast day, Mary Help of Christians, with a special Mass led by our parish priest, followed by fun games and activities for the whole community.

Throughout the year, we offer Parent Workshops in our school library, covering topics such as Well-Being, Mathematics, English, and Religious Education. For information on upcoming workshops, keep an eye on our school newsletter and Compass.

We look forward to your active participation in our school community!
